Strata Community Association (SCA), Australia’s peak body for strata title properties, has warned of the long-term impact and expense if maintenance or any planned work is not carried out.

SCA National President, Andrew Chambers says “If strata communities cancel ongoing maintenance or planned work, they impact not only on the workflow of strata ecosystems, they can cause long-term effects on the building and amenities and will cost far more money to fix in the long run.”

With more people at home, the need for high maintenance has escalated in many essential areas such as cleaning and disinfecting, waste disposal and plumbing.

The demand now placed on strata managers is greater than ever before. Not only are they managing strata schemes from home, but also the government-imposed restrictions on residential communities on a scale never imagined.
